Gay All The Time

About being Gay and being Proud

Proposition 8 is Winning

10/19/2008 (Human Rights)

I am not in California, nor am I an American, and yet the news that Proposition 8 is winning is just as depressing for me, as if I was a Californian. I am Gay and Damn Proud of It, but it seems that these days, that is not such a good thing. Whether one lives in California or even in Canada, Homosexuals are under attack, literally, from the so called Religious Right.

Proposition 8 is about denying same sex people from being Married, that the California Supreme Court ruled on, saying it was required under the U.S. Constitution. Now many people are rushing about with their heads chopped off, in pure panic, that Gay Marriage will somehow make gay sex a course in elementary schools, will make us Homosexuals convert more naive boys into being sex toys.

HOW BIGOTED.

And yet that is what is happening, as the supporters (not all, but a fair number) are saying. They use FEAR and outright LIES to scare people into supporting their Proposition, which is to DENY GAYS EQUAL RIGHTS UNDER CIVIL LAW.  This isn’t about forcing ANY CHURCH to recognize Gay Marriage, or force any SCHOOL to teach GAY SEX.  It is about being able to live as God Created Us, as Gay Men & Women.

The amount of money being spent by these people is amazing. Largely in thanks to the various Ultra Conservative Evangelicals & the Mormon Church. So it is time for those who truly believe in Democracy, in FREEDOM OF RELIGION to reach into their pockets and support the NO ON PROP 8 people.

This is WHERE YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE.

Homosexuality is a Mental Disorder

10/14/2008 (Human Rights)

It has to be, given the abuse we all sit back and take from the so called ‘normal‘ people out there. I really wonder at times, what drives people to being so racist, so intolerant? Just who have we (homosexuals) pissed off so much, that they convince people we are sick, perverted, evil, sinners, and mentally unbalanced? I really would like to know, so maybe Stephen Harper, George Bush, and others could enlighten me. After all, they are leaders of those who hate me.

I am rather dismayed at the hatred being show, even up here in the land of supposed tolerance, Canada.

In a province, a school district elected to refuse a noted Gay Author (Alex Sanchez) from speaking to students in the district. It made the CBC News because well, it is newsworthy. I mean after all, this is Canada, and that kind of Racism doesn’t go up here, or does it? After reading many of the comments that follow the story, from so called average Canadians, I feel rather ashamed of Canada. Well, not Canada, but those who have posted their vile hatred, for all to see.

Alex Sanchez writes books about gay youth and their struggle to find acceptance, but local school principals were not comfortable allowing him to address their students.

Jay Remer, spokesman for the Charlotte County Rainbow Support Group, said Sanchez is a terrific public speaker whose message is about tolerance.

He said Sanchez’s mission is “to help the gay youth in the community to feel less isolated and more part of the community as a whole.” (source - CBC News)

While there are a fair number who are trying to make the case, that differences aren’t evil, that one’s interpretation of the Bible isn’t everyone’s, it just seems so depressing. I do not understand people, that hate so much, and I wonder, what is it that I did to them? I am Gay, PROUD OF IT, but I wonder at times, about my fellow man. How can they hate me, simply because I love another man? They don’t know me, so how can they sit in judgement of me, and my lifestyle?

Then too, there are those who still actually believe that not only is being gay a choice, but that many see the light and return to being normal.

So just what is Normal by their definition? Is it to wage war based on lies? How about that Whites are the Superior Race, when the truth is, Whites are actually a minority, just as Christianity is a minority as well. And yet they seem to be willing to accept that it is the only real religion, and that only their own view of it, is the right path.  Now I don’t know about them, but I believe in God. I believe he is a kind & loving power, that has made some tough choices, one of which is granting us Free Will. I believe he cares for all of us, and if the purported last words of Christ on the Cross are true, then how can he hate me for being Gay?

How can anyone believe, that GOD can hate any of his children?

I simply do not understand it, but then I am mental, so some of my fellow Canadians believe, while at the same time telling me their God loves me, but only if I deny who I am, who he created. It is sad, but it is life today in 2008. Makes you wonder, did we slip into a time warp somehow, and this is really 1933?

Forcing a Viewpoint.

08/03/2008 (Religion)

I wonder at times, is it right to push one viewpoint over another? Where does the line get drawn between ‘bashing‘ and simply forceful debate, forceful differences of opinion?

Take the whole issues of Religion and Homosexuality.

The Head of the Anglicans has asked that no new Bishops be consecrated, if they are homosexuals. It is a desire to avoid a schism in the Anglican wing of Christianity, and I wonder, is that request a blow to Gay Rights, or simply an attempt to let nature take its course?

“A fellow Christian may believe they have a profound fresh insight. They seek to persuade others about it. A healthy church gives space for such exchanges,” he told the 650 bishops at the meeting in Canterbury, England. “But the Christian with the new insight can’t claim straight away that this is now what the Church of God believes or intends.” (source - USA Today)

It makes sense to a point, but I wonder really is this about having space to debate the issue, or is it really a veiled attempt at keeping the opponents of same sex marriage, preachers, Bishops, happy? Is this appeasement, or truly an attempt to open a dialogue free from pressure? And should there be such a cooling off period, such a moratorium?

What one believes in, what their faith is, is rather a personal thing. I don’t know if any Organized Religious Group can truly alter how any single member feels. Does having a Gay Bishop matter to the man whose child is suffering from Cancer? Does a woman who’s been raped truly care if two guys can be married in her Church?

Is what a Preacher says on the pulpit going to really make a Gay Man deny his homosexuality, or suddenly become Heterosexual? Will the sermons of Hate about Gays really change, even if the hierarchy allow same sex marriage? I know that the story of the Wandering Jew is still preached, even when Popes have said it is a wrong message. I know that there are still many who preach about separation of races, and yet in society, race segregation isn’t tolerated.

The belief of racists didn’t stop the Civil Rights movement, even when it was led by the same style of Preacher and Politician that we have today, so does it really matter if some major religious group supports or opposes Gays in their Church? Most Religious Orders believe in Compassion, are supposedly INTOLERANT OF HATE, and yet that is exactly what they do. Despite all the sermons about loving one’s neighbour, one’s brother, it is clear that their sermons really have no effect, so why should we fight so hard for them to accept us?

Does it matter if the Bishop over in Texas of California accepts us? Isn’t it more important that we believe that GOD does? And really until HE comes down to Earth, to tell us we are Sinners, or Not, it is simply a personal belief. No Pope, no Bishop, No Rabbi, can change how WE BELIEVE IN GOD.

Better to Lie than tell the truth

07/27/2008 (USA)

Which is what DADT1 is really about. While General Peter Pace claims the US Military upholds a higher standard of ethics, he supports the Clinton Compromise of making people LIE. Now some will argue that DADT isn’t about lying, just not volunteering information, but isn’t there something in the Bible about Sins of Omission? Yet here is the Religious Right insisting that Homosexuals abandon their truth, that they OMIT telling anyone they are, WHO GOD CREATED.

The US Congress is once again debating this fifteen year old bill, and again the religious nut jobs are in full throttle. Again they claim that having openly serving gays will disrupt unit cohesiveness, will create untold problems, but what they don’t get, that shit didn’t work in the late 1940’s and 1950’s either when they tried to deny blacks from serving in mixed units.  Racism Never Works.

Among the most arresting debates Wednesday came when Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Pa., a first-term congressman and the only Iraq war veteran in Congress, accused a witness of implying that U.S. service members weren’t professional enough to handle serving with homosexuals. (source - CBS News)

In some ways, I would agree. Americans really don’t seem willing to accept change, or people who are different very easily. I would call that racism, but then I am not politically correct. Course all those who oppose homosexuals, do so out of a deep moral conviction, a deep religious belief. They seem to forget, that as all man is created by HIM, that even us nasty queers are HIS CHILDREN.

So now, they have come up with a new one. They claim that allowing us Queers to openly serve, and because we are such horny persuasive people, the incidents of HIV INFECTION will rise Dramatically among the US Military Personnel.

Donnelly contended that if the law were repealed the number of HIV-positive service members would probably increase.

Rep. Vic Snyder, D-Ark., a Vietnam veteran and medical doctor, called that comment “so inappropriate” and suggested that Donnelly advocate for the military to recruit only lesbians, who he said have a low incidence of HIV. (source - CBS News)

You gotta love these hypocrites. To begin with, HIV is not restricted to just Gay Men, just as Gonorrhea or Syphilis aren’t restricted to single straight heterosexuals. Then again, I suppose this is all part of the secret Gay Agenda, to infect straight soldiers with HIV, so we can make them all Gay too. What galls me is that these people are being paid by Tax Dollars for their warped opinions. No wonder the Military is so screwed up.

Married Gays Don’t Count

07/19/2008 (Human Rights)

Seems that in the 2010 Census, Married Gay Couples in CA & MASS won’t be counted in the US Census. It is being claimed that due to the ‘Defense of Marriage Act‘ that they passed, it doesn’t matter what individual States do or don’t do, least when it applies to Homosexuals.

The Census Bureau says the federal Defense of Marriage Act bars the agency from recognizing gay marriages in the nation’s 10-year count, even though the marriages are legal in Massachusetts and California. (source - CBS News)

I suppose many are probably saying: SO What?

being kept in the closetWell at first so did I, until I read the story, and one small blurb is what got the mind clicking. If ‘married‘ gay couples aren’t listed, or shown, how can there be any effort to force a change in the Federal System of granting benefits to Gay Couples? Politicians RELY on the Census for demographics, to help formulate their policies, or at least that is the theory.

So if Gay Couples aren’t listed, aren’t counted, how can any Government Agency take note of it? Seems that by NOT COUNTING GAY COUPLES or even LISTING SEXUAL ORIENTATION, we are being kept in the Closet. It makes US INVISIBLE TO THE ELECTED OFFICIALS. And that is not a good thing.

If they know there are X Number of Gay’s, it might sway them to NOT IGNORE OUR NEEDS.

It might make the recall of DADT come quicker, might make the Mathew Shepard Act get signed into law, if they knew HOW MANY OF US THERE ARE. This is what ‘not being counted‘ really means. All this talk about bringing Immigrants OUT OF THE SHADOWS is bullshit, because here they are insuring that those of us who are different, ARE KEPT IN THE SHADOWS.

Condom Use, In Decline or Increase?

07/03/2008 (Health Related)

I guess the bottom line is simple, do you use condoms when you have anal sex?

For myself, the wife and I do use them, and we have been together now for 12 years. I know he won’t cheat on me, nor will I, on him. Yet we still use them, and I think it comes from fear. YES, fear, because there is no way of knowing for sure, how long a virus can remain dormant in our systems. That is why we still practice Safe Sex.

Safer sex means using Condoms when having anal sexBoth of us, have had our moments before we hooked up, so I don’t know, I simply don’t want to get him sick. He feels the same way, so yes we use Condoms, yet if you listen to the various forums, discussions, more and more Men are opting to forgo using Condoms.

The arguments are varied, but for most it seems to be that one, they don’t feel as natural as doing it without protection. Another excuse is that well, it is inconvenient to stop and put one on. Now, there are other reasons, but for the most part those are the two main one’s that I hear, and more than likely are what you might be thinking as well.

Truth of the matter is, IT IS YOUR LIFE. And no, not just talking about HIV either. That is just one of the many diseases that one can contract if you don’t use a condom. YES, they are not 100% guaranteed safe, you can still contract a disease, but the simple fact is, IT REDUCES DRAMATICALLY THE RISK OF INFECTION. Now that may not mean much, because after all, there are pills or shots to take, that can clear it up.

Course that assumes you get regularly tested for those diseases, and that your system hasn’t built up an immunity to the cure, or that the disease isn’t a strain that has built up a resistance to the treatment. The rise of super bugs is real, so it isn’t just a matter of getting a shot anymore.

The rate of P&S syphilis among men has risen 54 percent over the past five years (from 3.7 per 100,000 in 2002 to 5.7 per 100,000 in 2006), driving overall increases in syphilis rates for the nation. Several sources of data suggest that increased transmission of P&S syphilis among MSM may be largely responsible for these increases. Over time, the disparity between male and female case rates has grown considerably. The P&S syphilis rate among males is now nearly six times the rate among females, whereas the rates were almost equivalent a decade ago. (source - Center for Disease Control)

Now I don’t know about you, but that is scary shit. It is like the whole world has gone a bit over the edge, between flooding, warmer than normal temperatures, colder than normal in spots, and just, well everything. From falling house prices, to increase reposessions of cars, and foreclosures. Yet while they might be things we can’t do something about, infections are something we can try to limit, to mitigate.

Using Condoms might not feel natural, but then again, if your dick falls off or gets cut off because it’s diseased, ain’t nothing gonna feel natural again, now is it?

Sure, you might have to stop for a minute to unroll a condom, but if you do it the way my wife does, it can make the other person even more ready, hotter in fact. It can be fun, be very erotic too, or you can simply ignore it, and well so what if your groin is covered in ugly sores? I mean that’ll sure get that hot stud wanting to go down on you, won’t it?

Syphilis, a genital ulcerative disease, is highly infectious, but easily curable in its early (primary and secondary) stages. If untreated, it can lead to serious longterm complications, including brain, cardiovascular, and organ damage, and even death. (source - CDC)

Using condoms is better than not using them

So Is Your Life Worth It?
